In order to open the settings window, click the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" class=\"wp-image-2115\" style=\"width: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/icon-settings.png\" alt=\"settings icon\"> <strong>Settings<\/strong> icon in the sidebar to access the settings. Then click the button <button class=\"av-button av-button--default\">Show all settings<\/button> to open the separate window with all settings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The settings are divided into the following sections:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#general\">General<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#audio\">Audio<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#video\">Video<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#appearance\">Appearance<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#accessibility\">Accessibility<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#network\">Network<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#help\">Help<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#about-alfaview\">About alfaview<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#reset-all-settings\">Reset all settings<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>Changes are automatically applied, saved and applied again upon next program start.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"general\">General<a href=\"#general\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"language\">Language<a href=\"#language\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>This selection menu allows you to change the language of the user interface. (Default setting)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beta<\/strong>: Select the Beta channel if you want to test new features early and support us with your feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Insider:<\/strong> In the Insider channel, you will receive experimental updates that are still in development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>After changing the update channel, alfaview must be restarted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"notification-sounds\">Notification sounds<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#notification-sounds\"><\/a><a href=\"#notification-sounds\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Customise the app&#8217;s notification sounds, which alert you to things like chat messages or people in the waiting room. Choose from the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Off<\/strong>: No notification sounds are used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Discreet<\/strong>: Quieter notification sounds are used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Normal<\/strong>: Normal notification sounds are used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"show-mini-window-when-minimized\">Show mini window when minimized<a href=\"#show-mini-window-when-minimized\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/participant-videos-and-presentation-area\/mini-window\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/participant-videos-and-presentation-area\/mini-window\/\">mini window<\/a> allows you to follow conversations and events in the alfaview room when you have minimized the main window of the application. This effectively adjusts the sensitivity of your microphone so that unwanted background noise is filtered out of your microphone transmission.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also optimize the microphone yourself. You can manually adjust the input level at which the microphone picks up your voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Speak into your microphone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Now move the slider to adjust the microphone sensitivity. Make sure the indicator bar turns blue and moves beyond the slider to the right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you are not speaking, the indicator bar should be orange or invisible. This means that your voice is not being transmitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>For the best transmission quality, we recommend that you maintain a constant distance from the microphone. You can also use the Optimization wizard in the <strong>Settings <\/strong>tab in the secondary menu. This will automatically adjust the level for you based on a short voice sample.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"speaker\">Speaker<a href=\"#speaker\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the speaker you want to use from the drop-down list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"speaker-volume\">Speaker volume<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#speaker-volume\"><\/a><a href=\"#speaker-volume\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can adjust the volume of alfaview using the slider below the speaker selection. Move the slider to adjust the volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"enable-push-to-talk\">Enable Push-To-talk<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#enable-push-to-talk\"><\/a><a href=\"#enable-push-to-talk\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>Push-to-talk can be helpful if you are in a noisy environment or if you do not have a headset available.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Push-to-talk feature allows you to activate the microphone manually by pressing a button. With this feature, your microphone only transmits sound when you press the <code>CTRL<\/code> key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Activate the push-to-talk switch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" class=\"wp-image-650\" style=\"width: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/icon-microphone-ptt.png\" alt=\"Symbol Push to Talk Mikrofon deaktiviert\"> <strong>microphone<\/strong> icon in the main menu will now appear orange and crossed out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To speak, press and hold the&nbsp;<code>CTRL<\/code>&nbsp;key on your keyboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Release the&nbsp;<code>CTRL<\/code>&nbsp;key as soon as you have finished speaking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>If you do not want to use the <code>CTRL<\/code>&nbsp;key for push to talk, you can define a custom key combination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Activate the Push-To-Talk function by checking the box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <button class=\"av-button--primary av-button\">Edit<\/button> button next to the Push-To-Talk option input field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the key on your keyboard that you want to use to activate the Push-To-Talk function. As soon as alfaview recognizes your key selection, it will be displayed in the input field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then click the  <button class=\"av-button av-button--error\">Save<\/button> button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"activate-microphone-before-entering-an-alfaview-room\">Activate microphone before entering an alfaview room<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/first-steps\/your-first-meeting\/setup-camera-and-microphone\/#activate-microphone-before-entering-an-alfaview-room\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#enable-microphone-on-join\"><\/a><a href=\"#activate-microphone-before-entering-an-alfaview-room\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you activate this function, your microphone is automatically switched on before you enter an alfaview room. You can deactivate the microphone at any time in the quick settings before entering a room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"noise-cancellation\">Noise cancellation<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#noise-cancellation\"><\/a><a href=\"#noise-cancellation\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Noise cancellation filters out unwanted background noise from your microphone feed, improving your audio transmission. Tick the box to enable it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"show-speaker-status\">Show speaker status<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#show-speaker-status\"><\/a><a href=\"#show-speaker-status\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you activate the speaker status, a small speaker icon appears in the bottom left corner of the status menu in the conference rooms. You can mute alfaview by clicking the icon. There are two options to choose from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Normal<\/strong>: Screen share is transmitted in regular quality (default setting).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reduced<\/strong>: Screen share is transmitted in reduced quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"second-camera-quality\">Second camera quality<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#second-camera-quality\"><\/a><a href=\"#second-camera-quality\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This menu changes the video quality for the second camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mirror-my-video-locally\">Mirror my video locally<a href=\"#mirror-my-video-locally\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This setting is used to see your own video like in front of a mirror. The presentation of your video to other participants is not mirrored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"improve-video-quality\">Improve video quality<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/settings\/general-settings\/#improve-video-quality\"><\/a><a href=\"#improve-video-quality\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Improves the appearance of all videos by adding a slight soft focus. Especially with skin tones this results in a smoother presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"appearance\">Appearance<a href=\"#appearance\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"design\">Design<a href=\"#design\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>Choose between a light and a dark color scheme.
