{"id":2488,"date":"2024-01-26T09:29:04","date_gmt":"2024-01-26T09:29:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/?page_id=2488"},"modified":"2025-06-16T13:13:51","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T13:13:51","slug":"video-and-screen-share-resolutions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/miscellaneous\/technical-information\/video-and-screen-share-resolutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Video and screen share resolutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"participant-videos\">Participant videos<a href=\"#participant-videos\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The resolution of the video in a room varies depending on the role of the participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the default 4:3 aspect ratio, videos have a maximum resolution of&nbsp;<strong>640x480p<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have selected&nbsp;<strong>Use 16:9 video aspect ratio for participant videos<\/strong>&nbsp;<a href=\"\/en\/administration\/room-management\/room-features\/\">room feature<\/a>&nbsp;in the Room Management settings, a maximum video resolution of&nbsp;<strong>1280x720p<\/strong>&nbsp;is available for VIPs. Other participants&#8217; videos are limited to a maximum resolution of&nbsp;<strong>1024x576p<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For both the 4:3 and the 16:9 video aspect ratios, the following number of frames per second (fps) will occur:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If there are between 1 and 12 people in a room, the videos will be displayed at 30 fps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there are 13 or more people in a room, the video will be displayed at 24 fps. Videos of VIPs and people who are currently speaking will still be displayed at 30 fps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>Videos with a resolution higher than the maximum specified will be downscaled automatically.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"screen-share\">Screen share<a href=\"#screen-share\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For screen share, the maximum resolution is <strong>1920x1200p<\/strong>. Sources with a higher resolution are downscaled automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"second-camera\">Second camera<a href=\"#second-camera\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to use a second camera, you can choose between three resolutions in your alfaview room:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>640x480p<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1280x720p<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1920x1080p<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the <strong>Settings <\/strong>tab in the secondary menu. Click the <button class=\"av-button av-button--secondary\">Show all settings<\/button> button.
