For more information, please refer to the Status menu section of the <a href=\"\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/primary-and-secondary-controls\/\">Primary and secondary controls<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"additional-features\">Additional features<a href=\"#additional-features\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"moderator-controls\">Moderator controls<a href=\"#moderator-controls\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Moderators have additional features that are useful for controlling a meeting. These functions can be accessed via the participant list in the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/primary-and-secondary-controls\/#secondary-menu\">function menu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When clicking on a participant, a context menu <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2122\" style=\"width: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dots.png\" alt=\"Kontextmen\u00fc Symbol\"> appears which allows you to control the permissions of participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-features-in-detail\">The features in detail<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/meeting-room\/moderator-controls\/#the-features-in-detail\"><\/a><a href=\"#the-features-in-detail\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p><strong>Write short message<\/strong><br>Write and send a short message to a participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lower hand<\/strong><br>Lower the raised hand of a participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allow microphone<\/strong><br>Activate or deactivate the microphone of a participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allow camera<\/strong><br>Activate or deactivate a participant\u2019s camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p><strong>Attention:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you revoke the&nbsp;<strong>Allow microphone<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Allow camera<\/strong>&nbsp;permissions for a participant (or yourself), that person will be reassigned the&nbsp;<a href=\"\/en\/administration\/general\/room-permissions\/\">role of Spectator<\/a>. As a Spectator, this person will not be listed in the Participant list by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can undo the role change in the alfaview app:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" class=\"wp-image-2115\" style=\"width: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/icon-settings.png\" alt=\"Settings icon\"> <strong>Settings<\/strong> tab, open the&nbsp;<a href=\"\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/primary-and-secondary-controls\/settings\/#feature-settings\">Feature settings<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable the&nbsp;<strong>Show spectators in user list<\/strong>&nbsp;feature.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give the participant with the Spectator role (or yourself) the&nbsp;<strong>Allow microphone<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Allow camera<\/strong>&nbsp;permissions in the Participant list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The participant (or you) now has the old role again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\"><div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfaview_moderator-controls_en.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/alfaview_moderator-controls_en.png\" alt=\"Overview of moderation functions. The video will be larger and displayed in the order before the videos of the other participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mute for me<\/strong><br>Mute a participant for the user himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Remove from this room<\/strong><br>Remove a participant completely from the room for 12 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"assign-a-moderator\">Assign a moderator<a href=\"https:\/\/support.alfaview.com\/en\/alfaview-app\/meeting-room\/moderator-controls\/#assign-a-moderator\"><\/a><a href=\"#assign-a-moderator\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The moderator is defined in the room settings. More information can be found in the <a href=\"\/en\/administration\/room-management\/edit-room\/\">edit room<\/a> article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: A moderator is not necessarily required to conduct a meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The participant list gives administrators additional features such as managing group and guest links or sending direct messages to groups. For more information about these and more features, please refer to the <a href=\"\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/room-admin-controls\/\">Room admin controls<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also additional features available for moderators. These help the moderators to manage participants in the alfaview room. For more information, please refer to the <a href=\"\/en\/alfaview-app\/alfaview-room\/moderator-controls\/\">Moderator controls<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"room-admin-controls\">Room admin controls<a href=\"#room-admin-controls\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a room administrator, you have additional functions in the app in addition to the moderator functions. The <strong>Manage Room<\/strong> tab also takes you to the administration interface.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"waiting-room\">Waiting room<a href=\"#waiting-room\" class=\"av-heading-anchor\"><i class=\"bi bi-link\"><\/i><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-alfaview-callout\">\n<p>The waiting room feature requires the <strong>alfaview version 8.68 or higher<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>alfaview version 9.11.0<\/strong> allows moderators to join waiting participants in the waiting room and speak to them before the participants are admitted to the alfaview room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of <strong>alfaview version 9.16.1<\/strong>, moderators can add a customised welcome note to the waiting room, which is displayed to those waiting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The waiting room is deactivated by default and can be activated by moderators or administrators.
